about

This track is the first track we wrote together as Hopeless Heroic and is the true story of a young boy in Papa New Guinea who watched his father killed and mother raped by american soldiers during the bush administrations. The boy went onto become the leader of his village and a general in the rebel army that has since defended their mineral rich land against the tyrants and politcal leaders of this world. The boy described the sound of american tanks as 'Mechanical Lions'

lyrics

They came in Mechanical Lions, backed by financial giants.
Tyrants paid to commit extreme acts of violence.
To rape a free village abandoned by science
A rich land where guerillas stand defiant but they're...
No match for these savage animals
Killing machines who destroy whoever's in their way.
A village raped, its a total massacre
A father dies for one man's greed.

A boy cries as he watches his father DIE DIE DIE DIE
He survives and takes on his fathers FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT FIGHT....

THEY KILL like they seen it in a movie, throwing high fives because they love the cruelty
A CHILD FIGHTS, they killed his family, he'll never be happy he fights for the land he wont
GIVE UP, he fights with honour protects his village in the name of his father,
HERE COMES disposable soldiers, explosive with armour, their doing what they're told.

Defiant hearts pump as they wait for whatever may come
Hear the ground like the sound of a thousand drums. For a paycheck they'll kill everyone, for honour guerillas die at ease.

Pre chorus - Chorus - outro
